what do you think of their last album?

I think that in the last two albums, their sound is very complicated and they lost their last drop of aggression. The only word that comes to my mind is : PERPLEXION!
I believe they try to change their sound but they didn't achieve it till now!
Somehow they lost their identity and I don't know if they'll ever find it!
I am sounding pessimistic but they dissapointed me a loooooooot!
The Imaginations days seems that belong to past and will never return!

i agree with you they are using too many sounds instead of playing pure metal the metal we all want.

The metal YOU might want. I am actually pretty happy with both the Opera and the Twist. When I listen to their older songs now, they just seem a bit plain. Nightfall might be a great album but it doesn't catch my attention anymore. Manowar are pure metal. BG were always proggy and I am -loving- what they are doing now. They are too good of musicians to keep to the simpler ways of a gazillion years ago.

Chris i don't agree with you this is not the way to be proggy. I love progg metal but what BG are doing i can not say it progg they just use many many sounds and the only thing that they do is confuse you. In the last album the choir is singing too much. something else that bothers me are the lyrics they are not as they used to be.

Well, I am not the one to argue here. Personally, I like what they are doing. Turn the Page, Fly, Another Stranger Me, Skalds and Shadows are songs I've been listening to for months while I can't make myself listen to Mirror Mirror and the rest oldies more than once per week. It's all taste - some of my friends stick to the old albums themselves.
The only problem is that it's not likely they'll go back to the old ways.
